What ChuteID is
- ChuteID is an information portal, not an approval authority. We do not certify riggers, canopies, repacks or logbooks.
- A ChuteID record is a convenience copy kept by the rig owner and the riggers. It is not a legal document. The reserve parachute data card remains the legal record (14 CFR 105.43). Always check the physical data card.
- ChuteID does not assess or certify the airworthiness of any rig, component or AAD. It does not calculate legal due dates: the dates shown are reminders based on what owners and riggers enter.
- The card’s chip is passive. It is not a tracker and has no location features.
Riggers
- Every rigger who signs on ChuteID declares that their certificate is valid and that the information is true. Each signature is the sole responsibility of the rigger who makes it.
- Approving a rigger on ChuteID only means we reviewed the information they sent; it is not a certification.
- Signatures cannot be deleted. They can only be voided, with a reason, by the rigger who signed or by the administrator, and they stay visible as voided.
Owners
- Owners are responsible for the information they enter about their rig (components, serial numbers, dates and photos).
- Your logbook is kept by you on a third-party app: ChuteID only stores the link and does not verify or guarantee your jumps.
- Compliance with USPA, FAA and dropzone rules is the responsibility of each user, and each dropzone decides whether to accept a jumper.
Privacy
- We store: your email; your rig’s details and photos; the link to your logbook, if you add it; for riggers, their certificate details and a photo or PDF of the certificate.
- Rig records are private by default. The owner can make a record public; your email is never shown on a public record.
- Repack reminders show the name and contact details of the rigger who signed the last repack, so owners can contact them.
- Certificate photos and PDFs are never shown on the website; they are only used to verify riggers.
- To ask for your data to be deleted, write to [email protected]. Service history signed by riggers may be kept with the rig, because it belongs to the rig.
Limitation of liability
- ChuteID is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for decisions made based on the information shown on ChuteID.
- Skydiving is a dangerous activity. Before every jump, follow your training, your rigger’s instructions and the applicable regulations.
